Feedback that never changes the next essay
Corrections alone do not stop the same mistake in the next essay. One round means knowing why, then rewriting.
What separates 6.0 from 7.0
Read the official band descriptors (2023 edition) line by line and the gap between 6 and 7 is not about hard words. It comes from four things.

Is your position clear throughout? (Task Response)
Band 7 keeps a clear position from start to finish, with main ideas extended and supported. Typical 6: the conclusion drifts from the introduction, or the idea is right but its support stops after one line.

Are more linking words better? (Coherence and Cohesion)
No. The band 6 description says cohesive devices are used, but cohesion may be faulty or mechanical. An essay with Firstly, Moreover and In conclusion bolted onto every paragraph looks exactly like that.

Rare words or the right combination? (Lexical Resource)
Band 7 uses less common words with awareness of style and collocation. Memorised advanced words in the wrong place do not raise the score.

How many sentences are error-free? (Grammar)
Band 7 uses a variety of complex structures with frequent error-free sentences. Korean writers repeat the same slips with articles, agreement (people who works) and prepositions, and the repetition is what holds them at 6.

Every essay comes back as a report
Each sentence that loses marks is quoted as you wrote it, with a corrected version and the reason. No band number goes on the report: a number invites an argument, a list of fixes invites a rewrite.

Practice by question type
Task 1 by chart type (bar, line, pie, table, map, process, mixed) and Task 2 by question type (both views, agree or disagree, advantages and disadvantages, two-part). Each type is judged on something different, so we start there.

Rewrites are checked against the same standard. Your progress and weak question types build up in the student portal and decide the next assignment.
